Great Harvest Bread
Real Food. Real People.

If you have a small child at home, you certainly would like them to be healthy and well-nourished. As you know, carrots can provide a myriad of benefits to them: they help with their vision, their skin, their teeth, and more. However, if your child isn’t a fan of the taste, you can always try preparing a delicious carrot puree that they can enjoy. If you’d like to know the recipe, continue reading!

How to Prepare Carrot Puree

Gather the Ingredients and Tools

  • 4 carrots (big ones, chopped into medium chunks)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ½ red onion
  • Water
  • Salt & pepper (to your liking)
  • Vegetable oil

  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • A large saucepan
  • Blender

Follow the Instructions

  • Start by dicing the garlic and onion into thin pieces. Then, put them in the large saucepan with a bit of vegetable oil so they won’t stick.
  • Let the garlic and onion sit there at a high flame for a couple of minutes before lowering them to a medium intensity.
  • Add the previously chopped carrot chunks into the saucepan and let them cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Next up, pour water into the saucepan. It should be enough to cover all of the carrots in there.
  • Turn the heat to a low intensity and let the carrots soften up anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes.
  • The following step is to take the saucepan off the stove and pour its contents into a blender. Blend them all until you get the consistency you like.
  • Finally, serve the puree and add some seasoning to your liking. You can even serve it with slices of whole grain toast to its side so you and your child can enjoy it even more.
