Spring is almost here, which means they’ll soon be lots of new fruity flavors to enjoy. However, if you want to have more than one way to be delighted by them, you can learn how to make delicious fruit jam at home by following this recipe! This way, you’ll have a sweet treat for those spring afternoons.

How to Make Fruit Jam

The Ingredients

¼ cup lemon juice
4 cups organic cane sugar
8 cups your favorite spring fruit
Pectin (use as instructed in its container)
Water

The Tools

Jars
Cutting board
Cutting knife
Spatula
A big pot
A masher
Spoon

The Instructions

  • Prepare the fruit: wash it well, peel it (if necessary) and chop it. Then, put it in boiling hot water until it has a softer consistency. Proceed to mash it until you get a puree.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients (lemon juice, sugar, and pectin) to your thick fruity puree. Mix them up nicely so you have a homogeneous and dense result.
  • Put your puree on the stove at a medium heat for about 5 minutes, always stirring the pot so nothing sticks to its sides.
  • Once those 5 minutes are up, take it to a high flame until you notice some thick bubbles forming on the pot. Remember to keep stirring!
  • Take a spoon and taste a bit of your jam. Just make sure to let it cool down first! If you think there’s something missing, add it now and mix it in together.
  • Finally, allow your delicious creation to cool down, and you’re done! You can store it away in jars, give it to friends and family, or eat it with some tasty whole grain bread!
