As you know, Great Harvest is dedicated to making you the most delicious, fresh bread and sweets daily. We love when you come to our bakery and try something new. In fact, we just love it when you try new things. Are you aware of the internet craze about creating recipes for one “in a mug”? If not, today we have a great surprise for you. We are going to suggest some of our favorite “in a mug” recipes with the Great Harvest bread we think will make the recipes that much better. So, get out your most beloved mug and your choice of bread, and get ready to create something delectable.

In A Mug French Toast

You’ll need:2 pieces of your favorite bread (white, wheat, croissant), 1 egg, 2 tablespoons of milk, cinnamon, Maple syrup, butter, vanilla extract (this is optional, but very recommended)

We Recommend  trying this with our Honey Wheat, Light Wheat, Cinnamon Chip, or for an extra special treat on Saturday, come in and get our Apple Cinnamon Chip bread and make this French Toast “in a mug” with it! You will seriously be thanking us later.

Instructions:
*Cube bread
*Butter the inside of your mug
*Pack 1 ½ slices of bread into the mug (remembering room for liquid)
*Separately, crack an egg and mix with 3 tablespoons of milk
*Add cinnamon, and for a really sweet combination, add vanilla extract
*Mix and add to the mug of bread
*Pat down and give a few minutes for the mixture to soak
*Microwave for  1 minute and 20 seconds or so*Add prefered amount of syrup
*DIG IN!

Bread Pudding

You’ll need:
Bread *stale bread is perfect, 1 egg, 1-3 tablespoons of sugar (it’s all about the amount of sweetness you want), 2 tablespoons of yogurt or milk (Greek yogurt, coconut milk, or soy are  fine options), 1-2 tablespoons of butter/margarine, 2 tablespoons applesauce (optional) 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional), dash of cinnamon

We Recommend making this with Great Harvest’s Monkey bread, White, or even our Multigrain bread. Exquisite.

Instructions:
*Tear bread into pieces
*Pack in mug
*In a separate container, mix all other ingredients, it is ok to melt the butter
*After whisking, pour onto bread, making sure the mixture reaches the bottom of the mug
*Microwave for about 2 minutes
*Let it cool (just a little)
*EAT UP!

Coffee Cup Quiche

You’ll need:1 egg, 1 ½ tablespoons milk, salt, black pepper, ¼ of a bagel, french bread, or other type of bread (here it is really about preference), 2 teaspoons of cream cheese, ½ slice prosciutto, ham, or turkey, fresh thyme or chives, dijon mustard

We Recommend White or Honey Wheat for a more traditional quiche, but for some extra special spicy kick, use our Asiago Sourdough or Garlic Cheddar bread. You simply will not regret it!

Instructions:
*Beat the egg and milk, adding salt and pepper, in the mug
*Tear bread into small (dime size) pieces and stir in with cream cheese
*Cut preferred meat into small pieces and add
*Sprinkle thyme
*Microwave for about 1 minute and 10 seconds
*Garnish with mustard, thyme, or chives
*ENJOY!
